Budget for research activity

All doctoral students (except for the PhD students with a scholarship financed by a foreign country or an international program) are assigned a research activity budget in the amount of €1,624.30. For doctoral students enrolled in National PhD programs, the research activity budget is doubled, amounting to €3,248.60. The budget can be used for purposes related to the objectives of the doctoral program, in accordance with the current regulations on doctoral studies, as well as with public accounting standards and university regulations.

Examples of eligible expenses include:

Registration for conferences and conventions
Missions within Italy and abroad (please consult the University’s Mission)
Laboratory consumables
Textbooks
Software
Small tools
Computers

All materials purchased using the research activity budget will remain the property of the University. The expenditure proposal must be endorsed by the doctoral student’s supervisor and approved by the Department Director, along with the Administrative Secretary, to ensure compliance with administrative and accounting regulations.

Access to the annual budget is only granted after the doctoral student’s enrollment has been completed and, in any case, not before the start of the academic year. It is possible to accumulate the annual budget for comprehensive use during the third year if proposed and approved by the supervisor for research needs.
